Now get out there and have fun. If you ever have questions please reach out to me and I am happy to help and make suggestions.

Backpacking List

So with this basic backpacking list you should be good to go. Remember when backpacking keep it as lite as possible. Most backpacker measure everything in ounces and every ounce counts. Also when backpacking remember to pack out trash, so keep your trash to bare minimum. Lets get to the list.

Backpacking List

1. Hiking boots and/or shoes, make sure they are of good quality.

2. Backpack, here again good quality is the best.

3. Tent/ Hammock, now this is up to you on how you want to sleep on the trail and if the trail has places to hang a hammock.

4.Sleeping bag and sleeping pad.

5. Stove and fuel. There are many choices here do your home work on this to see what would be the best for you.

6. Kitchen Supplies, what ever you need to make your meals on the trail. Once again this should be based off what food you will be taking.

7. Plenty of Food. Refer to number 5 and 6 as far as what kind of food your taking and how you will prepare such food. i.e. Freeze Dried, MRE and Regular prepared foods.

8. Water Bottles and Water Treatment Supplies i.e Light Pen, Carbon Filter or Tablets.

9. Weather-Appropriate Clothing.

Planing.

So I am going over my schedule for up coming couple of months and to see where all I am going, what gear I will need and do I need to make reservations. How far out do you plan your outings? My thought is always know where your going and what your going to need to succeed. If you plan your gear a head of time you wont get to camp and have that oh crap moment that you forgot something. With that said what type of camping are you going to do i.e. car camping, bushcraft camp, backpacking or even cabin camping. In the coming days I will be touching more on these types of camping set ups and gear list for each.
