I am Patrick with Mid Tn Outdoors. I am an Eagle Scout, Husband, and Father. I have a love for just about anything outdoors. Come along on my family's and my solo adventures.
Good day to all of my outdoor crew, as the title says 2023 is starting to ramp up. There will be a major announcement coming in a couple of weeks. I will say save a spot on your calendar for May 12th – 14th. More to come on that soon. Also, new gear is showing up as we speak to make my overland/truck camping setup go much easier and faster. Also, I have downsized some of my gear to make more room in the truck. I was getting to the point I need a trailer or a bigger truck. With all of that said the year is shaping up already. My main goal is to do a lot more camping this year and get out to more places and hope to get out of Tennessee into more of Kentucky Alabama and maybe even into North Carolina at some point this year. So stay tuned here and on the YouTubes for more to come on all of the happenings.
Today is YouTube Tuesday and that means a new video and also means the last video in the Point and Shoot camera series. So go check it out. In a couple of weeks, I will have a roundup video on which cameras I kept and the ones that got chopped.
Here is a rewind of 2022. All the adventures and travels, campouts, and jeep adventures from the past year. Can’t wait to see what 2023 has to offer. Have a Happy New Year.
In this video, CJ and I take off to check out the Parthenon in Nashville, Tn. It has been an extended time since I set foot in this place and wow it is fantastic.
So I have been gathering up some old point-and-shoot cameras for a project that I have coming to youtube.
I think these point and shoots still have a place going into 2023, I will show they are just as alive today as there were when they came out in the early 2000s.
I will attempt to take all styles of photos with these cameras and we will break each one down.
Balancing healthy home life with strong work performance is never easy, and in trying to manage both, many of us end up burned out or unfulfilled. If you want to get the best out of your professional and personal life, youโll need to think strategically – here are a few tips to help.
Time Management
When you donโt have 5 minutes to rub together throughout the day, your first point of action is time management. That means scheduling, delegating, and downing tools when necessary. There are plenty of tools and apps to help with this, try to find one that aids you via alerts or is aimed at reducing procrastination.
Body Health
Your bodily health might not appear to directly influence either work or personal life, but diet and fitness are directly linked to mood, energy, and focus levels. If you want to give yourself the best chance of succeeding in the working week and be less irritable around others, you could do worse than revamping your eating habits with healthy recipes and working cardio into your mornings/evenings.
Sleeping Timetable
Weโre slower, more lethargic, and more prone to stress without a good nightโs sleep, and that just makes us more restless when our heads do finally hit the pillow. Ideally, we want 8 hours per night – the trick to meeting this target consistently is simply not to leave things to the last minute. That means drinking more water, less caffeine throughout the day, turning off lights and screens in the later hours, and spending more time enjoying thoughtful, reflective activities such as reading.
Vacations
Many of us are allergic to vacations, and thatโs one of the main reasons we end up overworked and overstressed come wintertime. Regardless of your work culture, you are entitled to your vacation days, and you should aim to take them whenever and wherever you can – use this downtime to do the things you want to do and that you know will help you unwind. You may also want to look into online calendars to see how you can make the most out of your time off with respect to bank holidays and other major events.
Reskilling
If youโve fallen out of love with your line of work or youโre just looking to increase your earning potential, you may want to consider online courses. These types of business degrees can help you to learn skills in accounting, business, communications, or management and can be completed remotely, meaning you can fit studies around full-time work or family obligations.
Gardening
Itโs not always easy to find ways to alleviate stress during the working week, but one way that is proven to improve our mental state is gardening. This is an effective way to feel good, get your daily exercise, and, at the end of it, you might even have some homegrown produce to enjoy for dinner. Before getting started, be sure to consult online resources (such as those provided by HomeGardenHero) for product reviews and expert gardening advice.
There is no one-size-fits-all solution for beating work burnout, but, if youโre smart about how you manage time, take care of your body, navigate your career and spend your downtime (such as with gardening), youโll soon enjoy your home life more and lighten the weight on your shoulders.
