Upcoming Projects for MTO Pro

Well where do I start, I have picked up a few new cameras to shoot with and play with. I know my collection is getting out of hand but one day my kids will laugh at it and wish they had intervened.

So the first camera we are going to look at is a Kodak Ektralite 10, yep I am stupid and going to shoot a 110 camera. With the film on the way from Lomography, we are going to tip-toe through this little beast of a camera. Oh did I say I have the box and book that came with the camera?

So the next beast of a camera we will showcase is the 2001 Canon Powershot S40 with 4MP, which uses a CF card and wait for it SHOOTS RAW!!! What the what.

Then we have a pair of Casio pocket digicams that are 3.2MP and 5MP and are small enough to fit in your wallet, well almost. Did I say it takes forever to charge the batteries for some dumb reason?

Canon EOS 5D Mark II
Minolta QTsi Camera

Going Wide Angle!!!

That’s right all, I am going wide angle lens with the 5D Mark ii. Hopped on KEH to look for a 200-dollar or less lens and found the Canon 20-35mm F/3.5-4.5 USM EF Mount Lensย in excellent condition. Boy howdy was this thing clean as hell, looked almost like new. So I tossed it on the 5D the day after I received it and took the shots below. The first two shots were shot at 20mm.

20mm

The next shot was at 35mm.

35mm

So going into 2024 I will be shooting some cool super wide angle shots and amazing landscape shots. So thanks to Ashley at KEH for suggesting the lens hits the spot.

My Unforgettable Outdoor Adventure: Renting an RV

Are you ready for an adventure? Do you want to explore the great outdoors and see new sights? If so, then renting an RV might just be the perfect way to travel. With Outdoorsy, you can rent an RV and hit the road in style. In this guide, we’ll walk you through everything you need to know about renting an RV with Outdoorsy, including the types of RVs available, how to choose the right RV for your trip, the rental process, tips for planning your RV trip, essential items to pack, safety tips, and popular RV destinations and routes.

Types of RVs available for rent

Outdoorsy offers a wide variety of RVs for rent, including Class A, Class B, and Class C motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth-wheel trailers, toy haulers, and campervans. Each type of RV has its own unique features and benefits, so it’s important to choose the right type for your trip.

Class A motorhomes are the largest and most luxurious type of RV, with plenty of space for families and groups. They often feature amenities like full kitchens, bathrooms, and entertainment systems. Class B motorhomes, also known as camper vans, are smaller and more compact, making them easier to drive and park. They typically have a sleeping area, kitchenette, and bathroom. Class C motorhomes are a mid-size option that offers a good balance between space and maneuverability. They often have a sleeping area over the cab, as well as a kitchen, bathroom, and living area.

Travel trailers are towable RVs that can be hitched to a truck or SUV. They range in size from small and lightweight to large and spacious and can accommodate anywhere from two to ten people. Fifth-wheel trailers are similar to travel trailers but are hitched to a special hitch in the bed of a pickup truck instead of the bumper. They are typically larger and more luxurious than travel trailers, with amenities like multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, full kitchens, and slide-out living areas.

Toy haulers are a type of travel trailer that has a garage area in the back for storing recreational vehicles like ATVs, motorcycles, or bicycles. They often have a separate entrance to the garage area, as well as a living area and sleeping area. Campervans are similar to Class B motorhomes but are often more basic and stripped-down. They are a good option for those who want a simple and affordable way to travel.

How to choose the right RV for your trip

Choosing the right RV for your trip can be a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be. The first step is to consider your needs and preferences. How many people will be traveling with you? How long will you be on the road? What amenities are important to you? Answering these questions will help you narrow down your options and find the perfect RV for your trip.

If you’re traveling with a large group or family, a Class A motorhome or fifth-wheel trailer might be the best option, as they offer plenty of space and amenities. If you’re traveling solo or as a couple, a Class B motorhome or campervan might be a better choice, as they are more compact and easier to drive. If you’re planning on doing a lot of outdoor activities, like hiking or biking, a toy hauler might be a good option, as it allows you to bring your gear with you.

It’s also important to consider your budget when choosing an RV. Class A motorhomes and fifth-wheel trailers are typically the most expensive, while campervans and travel trailers are more affordable. Keep in mind that there may be additional costs, like campground fees and fuel expenses, so be sure to factor those into your budget as well.

Understanding the rental process with Outdoorsy

Renting an RV with Outdoorsy is a simple and straightforward process. First, you’ll need to create an account on their website and search for available RVs in your area. You can filter your search by location, type of RV, price range, and other criteria. Once you find an RV you like, you can request to book it and send a message to the owner to ask any questions or request any special accommodations.

The owner will then have 24 hours to accept or decline your request. If they accept, you’ll be charged a deposit and the rental fee, and you’ll need to provide your driver’s license and insurance information. You’ll also need to sign a rental agreement and pick up the RV at the designated location.

During your rental period, you’ll be responsible for keeping the RV clean and in good condition, as well as following all of the rules and regulations of the rental agreement. When your rental period is over, you’ll need to return the RV to the designated location and have it inspected by the owner.

Tips for planning your RV trip
