Point and Shoot, Shoot Out!

So, I have been looking for a good point-and-shoot 35mm camera to tag along on trips. So I found two point-and-shoot cameras, loaded them both with Fuiji 200 color film, and went out and about shooting my heart out.

Test Photo 1

Now I am not going to talk about the cameras as of yet, there will be a video coming for that. I will also say this may not be the final pick between these two cameras either. I have had my eye on another camera. But for now, these will do.

Test Photo 2

Between these two cameras one seems to be a little sharper than the other, see if you notice between the two shots above. Both have fixed lenses so the is no zooming in and out. That may be something I may have to think about going forward, do I want a point-and-shoot that zooms, or is it a fixed focal length that I want?

Also, note in test photos 3 and 4, you will notice there is a built-in flash, there are common on all the 35mm point-and-shoot 35mm cameras out there from the 90s to early 2000s. That is what a lot of people are looking for from night-time or indoor pictures to a single flash fire on analog pictures.

Stay tuned for the YouTube video very soon. I am working it now and may have it up by the weekend.

Ilford HP5, Now I am a B&W Hooked!!!

Ilford HP5 is a popular black-and-white film among photographers who enjoy shooting with film. This film is known for its versatility, as it can be used in various lighting situations and still produce great results. Whether you are shooting in low light or bright sunlight, HP5 can give you the level of detail and contrast that you need to create stunning images.

One of the benefits of shooting with film is the ability to experiment with different types of film. With HP5, you can achieve a classic, timeless look that is hard to replicate with digital photography. The grain structure of HP5 gives your photos a unique texture that can add depth and character to your images.

When shooting with HP5, it is essential to pay attention to your exposure and development techniques. Overexposure can result in blown-out highlights, while underexposure can cause your images to lack detail. Developing your film correctly can also impact the final outcome of your images. However, with some practice and experimentation, you can master the art of shooting with HP5 and produce stunning results that are sure to impress.

Winter Prep For Spring Camping

Winter may seem like an unlikely time to think about camping, but it can actually be a great opportunity to prepare for your springtime outdoor adventures. There are a few things you can do during the winter months to ensure that you’re ready for your next camping trip.

Firstly, you can use the winter months to research potential camping locations. Look for campgrounds that are open in the spring and summer months, and read reviews from other campers to get an idea of what to expect. You can also research hiking trails and other outdoor activities in the area to plan your itinerary.

Secondly, use the winter months to check and repair your camping gear. Inspect your tent, sleeping bags, and other camping equipment for any signs of wear and tear, and make any necessary repairs. This will ensure that your gear is in good condition and ready to use when you head out into the wilderness.

Finally, you can use the winter months to plan out your meals and snacks for your camping trip. Research easy camping recipes that you can make ahead of time and pack with you, and stock up on non-perishable snacks like trail mix, granola bars, and dried fruit.

MTO Productions, Wait What

โ€ƒโ€ƒSo in May of 2023 I decided to launch another YouTube Channel, yeah that’s right I don’t have enough to do these days why not add something else to my plate. So you may be asking what the hell is MTO Productions, the answer is simple. MTO Production is what I call it when filming or shooting photography for the other channel. Now you also have to know I am 100% trained by the highest institution in the world, YouTube, and well with lots and lots of trial and error.

โ€ƒโ€ƒSo below I am going to drop a couple of videos from that channel and will start uploading them here when they come out. The upload schedule on that channel is every other week and not weekly. Gives me more time to work on those videos and help explain my madness. So yeah that is MTO Productions in a nutshell. So I hope you follow along. Till next time see you later.

Year End Rewind

Take a look at our rewind of 2023. What a year and all the cool trips we took. Get ready for a whole new year and more adventures.

Going Wide Angle!!!

That’s right all, I am going wide angle lens with the 5D Mark ii. Hopped on KEH to look for a 200-dollar or less lens and found the Canon 20-35mm F/3.5-4.5 USM EF Mount Lensย in excellent condition. Boy howdy was this thing clean as hell, looked almost like new. So I tossed it on the 5D the day after I received it and took the shots below. The first two shots were shot at 20mm.

20mm

The next shot was at 35mm.

35mm

So going into 2024 I will be shooting some cool super wide angle shots and amazing landscape shots. So thanks to Ashley at KEH for suggesting the lens hits the spot.
